Weather apps show raw data — temperature, chance of rain. Open Your Windows combines temperature, humidity (dewpoint), air quality, pollen, gusts, and rain forecast into a single comfort decision. Two days can have the same temperature but very different dewpoints; only one of them is comfortable with the windows open.
This usually means location permission was denied. Go to Settings → Privacy & Security → Location Services → Open Your Windows and set it to While Using the App. Then pull down to refresh.
The defaults are tuned for general comfort. If you have pollen allergies or asthma, enable the Pollen Sensitive toggle in Settings — it tightens the pollen thresholds and re-fetches immediately. If something still seems off, email us with your location (city/state is fine) and what the app showed vs. what you expected.
iOS controls widget refresh timing and may delay updates by up to an hour. Pull down to refresh in the app to force an immediate update; the widget will pick up the new data on its next scheduled refresh.
Your coordinates are rounded to a ~1 km grid, sent to our server to fetch weather/AQI/pollen, and never stored. See the Privacy Policy for full details.
